Hrush Bhatt is the founder and director of travel bookings site Cleartrip, which has been around since 2006. 

He has dual degrees in Economics and History from Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin. After finishing his bachelor’s, he returned to India in 1998 and worked at Plexus Technologies for a year, serving as lead designer and founding their e-commerce strategy practice. It was during his time there that he served as the lead consultant for the launch of the site www.indiatimes.com. 

In 1999, he co-founded Paper Plane, a boutique consulting firm focussed on business strategy and design for a nascent online space. He is a pioneer in e-commerce, and has had several firsts for the Indian market, including the first online air-ticket auctions and the first travel site to be integrated with a GDS for air ticket bookings.

In 2006, he founded Cleatrip, with the mantra of “making travel simple,” offering customer comparison fares with multiple flights and hotels. 

As Founder and Director, Bhatt is responsible for defining Cleartrip’s corporate strategy and implementation and maintaining the website.
